Recent CCS-UK problems
Information regarding CCS-UK problems on Sunday 19th and Monday 20th February 2012
You will be aware that a major change was made to CCS-UK on the night of Saturday 17th February, which involved the introduction of new mainframes in new data centres. A good deal of testing and planning had gone into this project and it was completed at 19.20 hours on Saturday evening and live operation restarted well ahead of the schedule.
On Sunday it was observed that a small number of transactions to CCS-UK had failed and diagnosis of the problem commenced. On Monday some further transactions failed and it was identified that large customs declarations from a few forwarder systems were affected. During the day the cause of the problem was identified and a quick fix was applied to a number of those forwarders systems and this fix resolved the problems they were experiencing.
Later on, at around 4.30pm, BT made a central configuration change to the new mainframes and carried out a reload of the IPStream interface. This solved the problem for all forwarders systems that had been affected.
We would like to apologise to those users that were affected by the problem which was caused by the change of mainframes which support CCS UK and not by the forwarders systems.
