HMRC – Transit Departures (NCTS) Issues
HMRC have asked that we pass this important message on to you.
We would like to make users aware of a known issue currently affecting the Transit Departures (NCTS)
HMRC has confirmed that, in some cases, cancellation messages may be sent against the wrong declaration. This can occur when a movement has been replaced and assigned a new reference, causing subsequent system messages to be linked incorrectly.
There appears to be a risk of this occurring if the same LRN has been used on a new movement with a suffix (e.g. REF1, REF1A)
As a result, you may receive cancellation related messages for declarations that were not actually cancelled.
The issue is known to HMRC, and work is ongoing to identify and implement a fix. Unfortunately, there is currently no confirmed timescale for resolution.
If you encounter unexpected cancellation messages, please be aware that they may be related to this known issue rather than an error with your declaration.
Until a fix is implemented, it is advisable for users to pre lodge transit declarations until variable information is confirmed (e,g, trailer numbers) or use alternative LRN formats when replacing transit declarations
