Albacore communications infrastructure upgrade project – update

BT Openreach have now installed the conduit for our fiber upgrade, tomorrow (Wednesday 10th April) they are planning to ‘blow’ the fiber optic cable from the exchange direct to our communications cabinet.
We anticipate the upgrade will be complete by the end of April.
The new connection which is based on a 100Mbps fibre optic backbone will make our corporate BTNet connection 500% faster. This coupled with very significant hardware upgrades will massively improve email resilience as well as providing our customers with much faster email delivery. The upgrade represents an investment in excess of £80,000.
