Albacore MCP auto print and archive utility

Since August of last year, prints for MCP no longer arrive through the Amaril client software. Instead MCP offer two options for print delivery, these are Email and LPR/LPD.

Email
Using this method MCP will email the print to an email address of your choice. The print will be received in your mailbox as either an email with a text attachment (the text attachment is the actual print) or as an email with the print embedded into the body of the mail. It is then your responsibility to print the document (if required). Please note you may need to modify the document by adding page breaks or by deleting unwanted email addressing information in order to formulate the print into a recognisable document.

Documents received by email will not auto print on receipt.

LPR/LPD
This method is similar to Amaril printing in as much as documents will auto-print as they are received. It has the added advantage that there is no possibility of prints being caught by SPAM traps or of being delayed by external mail servers which are out of your or MCPs control. The printing connection is established directly between MCPs and your own system.

LPR/LPD printing is not MCPs preferred option as it requires considerable technical setup on your (the users) system in order to ensure a reliable connection.

Albacore MCP auto print and archive utility
Albacore are able to offer a third option for printing which is our MCP auto print and archive utility. Our utility can be configured to accept connections either by SMTP (email) or using LPR/LPD. Whichever method you choose you have the option to automatically get a print immediately the document is received.

Our solution provides you with the same functionality as the existing Amaril and in addition archives a copy of all prints to the hard disk, allows reprints and supports print routing (Number of copies, different printers, archive but don't print, etc.) using a sophisticated user configurable rule set.
